movies are currently a huge interest of mine. i collect dvds and i love to watch new things (although my letterboxd might suggest all i do is rewatch stuff)
here are some of my favorite movies and a short description about why i like them:
Brokeback Mountain (2005):
In my opinion the greatest thing a movie can do is make you feel… and this movie does that so successfully EACH time. i cry each time i watch this.
Fight Club (1999):
this movie is one that never stops being fun to watch. i can watch i any day and enjoy it. the music is amazing, and it’s so stylish. edward norton SLAYS!!!
Donnie Darko (2001):
4 years before brokeback mountain, jake gyllenhaal starred in this masterpiece of a movie. a movie about mental illness and time travel…what’s not to love. i hate the director’s interpretation (ik how that sounds), so if you wanna watch this make sure it’s the theatrical cut i beg of you.
The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999):
this movie slowly seeped into my brain. it has everything!…crime, homoeroticism, …um … and CRIME! and also cate blanchett being looking cute. this movie i recommended you go in with nothing in mind. it drags a bit but please stay with it. this movie comments on class and being lgbt in a time of ignorance.
